Skip waste is processed, segregated and treated using high-resolution cameras, 3D sensors, near-infrared optics and other technologies. Materials suitable for recovery and recycling are removed to minimise what goes to landfill. What can’t be recycled or repurposed is disposed of responsibly. Methane gas from landfill is captured and converted into enough electricity to power 8,500 homes every year.

The price covers up to 7-days hire, although you can request your skip to be collected before this if required.
Yes, we will endeavour to provide this service when possible. For special requests please call 01 841 7000.
You can put anything in your skip apart from: Household food waste, Mattress*, Animal remains or carcasses, Asbestos, Batteries, Chemical Waste, Contaminated Soil & Stones, WEE Goods, End of life tyres, Fluorescent light bulbs/lighting, Inks, Paint or empty paint tins, Waste oils, Sludges.
*Mattresses can be taken away for an additional €20
The following items cannot be placed in your skip; Household food waste, Mattress*, Animal remains or carcasses, Asbestos, Batteries, Chemical Waste, Contaminated Soil & Stones, WEE Goods, End of life tyres, Fluorescent light bulbs/lighting, Inks, Paint or empty paint tins, Waste oils, Sludges.

Mattresses can be taken away for an additional €20 charge. Alternatively please dispose of your mattress at your local civic amenity site.
Your skip can be filled no more than a foot over the level of the skip.
If your skip can be placed on your property you don’t require a permit. However, if your skip is required to be placed on public roads / loading bays / parking spaces etc, you will need a permit. Please check with your local authority if you are unsure if the area is public.
We cannot guarantee times for skip deliveries – however we endeavour to assist customers who request a preferred period of time for drop off.
We currently offer €10 off skip hire for existing Bord na Móna Recycling household customers when they order a skip by calling 01 841 7000.
